Support to Sector Programmes: Covering the Three Financing Modalities: Sector Budget Support, Pool Funding and EC Project Procedures
The European Commision is committed to delivering 'more and better aid'. The Paris Declaration of March 2005 set international guidelines and targets for raising the quality of aid, and the EC's commitment was reinforced by the European Consensus statement of November 2005. This is not a new concern for the EC. It has been for many years at the forefront of efforts to make aid more effective by harmonising its efforts with other donors, and by aligning aid with partner country strategies and systems.
